The Ministry of Justice will create a contact form on its website that will allow magistrates to report attempts to influence their independent choices with full confidentiality. This was announced by Minister of Justice Nikolay Naydenov during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Rumen Radev, where the "Justice" section of the Governance Program of the Republic of Bulgaria 2026-2030 was presented. The initiative comes in the context of the upcoming elections for a new composition of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
"For the first time in many years, we have a real chance to stop the long-standing capture and subordination of the judicial system by oligarchic circles, the creation and exploitation of dependencies, and consequently, the chronic lack of justice," declared Naydenov. In his address to the magistrates, he urged them not to give in to pressure: "Do not succumb to pressure and do not become victims of shrewd calculations. Merchants of justice have no place in the temple of Themis. Do not be afraid of the giants in the judicial system, because they are pygmies."
The Minister called on parliamentary forces, professional magistrate organizations, and the academic community to begin a debate regarding constitutional reform. According to him, the changes require "broad consensus, time, and precision in the expert approach." "It cannot, and it has been proven that it should not be, the work of a single majority. This is precisely where our call for partnership takes on its most concrete meaning," the Justice Minister added.
