Controlled destruction of ammunition near Gabrovo
Today, on the territory of the Emko plant, located near the village of Belitsa in the Gabrovo region, controlled detonation of ammunition will be carried out. The operation is being conducted to ensure safety in the region.
The blasting activities are scheduled for the time window from 13:00 to 16:00.
The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Gabrovo clarified that specialized teams will manage the process. Residents in the area should be informed that:
- The national early warning system BG-ALERT will be activated.
- The actions are preventive and are necessary due to past incidents at the base.
We remind you that on August 10, an explosion occurred in a warehouse of the same company near the village of Belitsa, followed by a fire caused by scattered debris. The current operation aims to completely secure the site.
