The Constitutional Court will consider the appeal regarding the election of the leadership of the Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK), filed by parties. The court will examine the work of the Nomination Commission and the candidates for the KPK.

The Constitutional Court is getting involved in the dispute surrounding the election of the leadership of the Anti-Corruption Commission (CPC) after admitting for review the complaint filed by the parties "Velichie", MECH, and "Vazrazhdane". This was announced by the judicial institution. The court's decision, which opens the door for an in-depth investigation of the issue, was made in conditions of complete collegiality - all constitutional judges participated in the meeting and voted unanimously to admit the complaint.

The court will have to consider the raised issues concerning the election and activities of the Nomination Commission. It was this commission that was formed with the specific purpose of selecting candidates for key positions in the CPC.

We remind you that the in-depth consideration by the Constitutional Court comes against the background of the tension associated with the formation of the leadership of the anti-corruption commission. At the end of July, a key decision was made by the Parliamentary Commission on Prevention and Countering Corruption. With 10 votes "for" and five "against", the commission approved the composition of the Nomination Commission.

The work of the Nomination Commission did not stop there. After its formation, it took on the task of hearing the candidates for members of the CPC. Lawyers Adelina Natina-Zikolova, Maria Daskalova, Petar Koev and Stoyan Petkov were invited and appeared at this meeting, who presented their candidacies to the commission. It remains to be seen what the development of this important process will be and how the Constitutional Court will intervene.
