Two cars crashed hard just after 10pm this evening on the road between the village of Marinka and Burgas's Kraymorie district. Early reports from the scene say some of those hurt are seriously injured.

One of the cars is a taxi registered in Burgas. It hit the other car, which went off the road and ended up in a ditch by the roadside.

A fire engine, police patrols and an ambulance crew rushed to the scene. By 10:30pm, crews were still securing the area and helping the injured.

Police are checking whether speed played a part, but the exact cause of the crash has not yet been officially confirmed.

Witnesses said the impact was very hard. Drivers using the Marinka-Burgas stretch should slow down and follow instructions from police officers on the scene.
