A man from Kardzhali has been detained for bomb threats against institutions and schools.

A specially formed team of employees of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Kardzhali began an investigation after receiving bomb threats in several state institutions and six educational institutions in the city. The quick reaction of the police led to the identification and detention of a 23-year-old man for up to 24 hours under the Law on the Ministry of Interior.

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated against the detainee under Article 326, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Kardzhali.

Immediately after receiving the threats, employees of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior and the Kardzhali Police Department have conducted on-site inspections, but no suspicious objects have been found. Nevertheless, in three of the schools, the educational process was interrupted until the inspections were completed.
