Kableshkovo: No Sexual Abuse of Child in Kindergarten

In the town of Kableshkovo, in the kindergarten "Radost", no evidence of sexual abuse of a child has been found, prosecutor Maria Markova from the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Burgas announced today to representatives of the media. The tension in the room was felt as journalists awaited the news.

"At the moment, the conclusions from the appointed forensic medical examination do not confirm the commission of indecent acts or other forms of sexual abuse against the child," said Prosecutor Markova, adding, "Only abrasions in the area of the hands have been established, which, according to the experts, could have been caused by pressure on hard objects".

The reason for Prosecutor Markova's statement is a journalistic investigation, broadcast earlier, which raised the question of abuse of a child in the kindergarten.

The investigation into the case began in January this year, following a report from the child's mother, filed with the police. The coordination mechanism was immediately activated, including the prosecutor's office, the police, social services, the municipality and medical personnel. The case is conducted under Art. 149 of the Penal Code, concerning indecent acts.

"The prosecutor's office has not neglected this case – on the contrary, this is one of the priority investigations, especially considering the fact that it concerns a minor child," Prosecutor Markova emphasized, expressing the commitment of the institution.

She clarified that numerous witnesses were questioned, including the kindergarten staff and parents of other children. Interrogations of minor witnesses are pending, emphasizing the importance of gentle methods to avoid secondary traumatization.

A forensic psychiatric examination has been appointed, which will assess the child's ability to perceive and reproduce facts and circumstances related to the case. The prosecutor's office is ready to appoint a repeat forensic medical examination, including in another judicial district, if new medical data appears.

"The investigation is conducted within the legally established deadlines. The only delay so far was related to the preparation of the examination, because due to the workload, a large part of the experts recused themselves," Maria Markova explained.

According to the prosecutor, the child is in good health and mental condition and does not attend kindergarten, but is raised in a stable family environment. The teacher, to whom the report is directed, has not yet been brought to criminal responsibility and continues to perform her official duties, as not enough evidence has been gathered to bring charges.

"Our goal is not the formal conclusion of the investigation, but objective truth and justice," Prosecutor Markova concluded.
