Prosecutors in Haskovo will ask a court to keep a 32-year-old woman and her 14-year-old son in custody. The two are charged with killing a 67-year-old man in Dimitrovgrad, the prosecutor's office said.

Prosecutors are seeking detention for both. The court will decide whether the mother and son stay in jail.

According to the charges, the boy stabbed the man in the heart at his mother's urging. The killing happened at a house in the Chernokonevo district.

Prosecutors say the mother and son tried to hide the body but ran into a police patrol. The man was found in a car that had crashed near Dimitrovgrad.

The family lived in the house in Chernokonevo together with other children.
