The "Dog Shadow" team once again receives a call for help from sympathetic people in Sunny Beach. This time it is about a captured cat with severe, bleeding wounds on its neck, which is obviously suffering, but keeps its distance due to bad experiences with people. The animal was successfully captured, treated, neutered, dewormed and returned to the place from which it was taken. The local women cover the full cost of the treatment - 100 levs, for which the volunteers express their gratitude.
Daily, "Dog Shadow" deals with the capture and care of stray cats along the coast. The specific case develops in the very center of Sunny Beach, behind the police station. The women in the neighborhood share that with joint efforts they have managed to capture and neuter about 20 cats in the area, but this is only a small part of the problem. They cannot cope on their own and ask the volunteers to help them with the capture and sterilization of the cats living near the police station and deep into the resort.
In order to stop the uncontrolled breeding of stray cats and improve the conditions in which they live, "Dog Shadow" calls for financial assistance. Volunteers work pro bono, but sterilizations must be paid for. The organization asks people to get involved and support the cause so that they can continue the work they have started. After just a few years of such focused activity, they will be able to rest easy, knowing that they have contributed to the humane treatment of stray cats in Sunny Beach.
The volunteers of "Dog Shadow" believe that we are the place where we live, and call on everyone to get involved in caring for our common home. They thank all those who already support them, and continue to help those who cannot help themselves.
