On June 22, a border police team in Ruse stopped a taxi car that was arriving to exit Bulgaria at the Ruse - Giurgiu border crossing for a check. In the personal luggage of the 27-year-old passenger, a toiletry bag with a large sum of money - 29,860 levs and 5 gold metal jewelry was found. The man explained that the luggage did not belong to him, but to two other people who were also traveling to Romania.
After operational actions, employees from the "Special Tactical Actions" sector at the Regional Directorate of the Border Police - Ruse detained a 23-year-old man from the Sevlievo region, who was involved in the case. In a large store in Ruse, an 18-year-old woman, also from the Sevlievo region, was detained, in whose underwear 3,370 levs were found during a search.
The border police officers found that the jewelry and funds were the subject of a crime - a woman from Sevlievo had been the object of a telephone fraud and had thrown money and jewelry from her balcony to the criminals.
On June 21, the same team of border police officers from the Ruse Border Police Station revealed an identical case. In an attempt to cross into Romania, a 23-year-old man from Pleven was detained, carrying 2,100 levs and 2,950 dollars, which he had acquired through telephone fraud on the territory of the Pleven region.
The three detainees will be handed over to the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior - Gabrovo.
