Fire near Aytos: Fire crews are on site

A large fire broke out this evening in the Aytos area, in close proximity to the "Trite Bratia" locality. The report of the incident was received shortly before 10:00 PM.

At the moment, there is no danger to the population, authorities assure.

The fire has engulfed dry grass and bushes in rugged and difficult-to-access terrain, which is hindering the teams' efforts. Two fire crews from Aytos, accompanied by the head of the regional service, have been dispatched to the scene. An all-terrain vehicle is also heading to the location to assist in efforts to bring the blaze under control.

  • The head of the regional service;
  • Specialized all-terrain vehicle;
  • Forestry department employees.

It is noteworthy that the area is high-risk, as a fire also occurred in the same place last year. The authorities will remain on site until the flames are completely extinguished.
