A maritime drug trafficking route was uncovered during a specialized police operation by the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP) in the Burgas region. The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Burgas confirmed the operation, which took place across two locations in the area.

During the operation, GDBOP officers detained three individuals. More than 120 kilograms of marijuana were confiscated during the search. Law enforcement authorities also identified an innovative method for transferring illicit substances, which was being carried out via underwater trafficking.

A pre-trial proceeding has already been initiated in the case, which is being conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Burgas. Investigators are continuing their work to clarify the full extent of the criminal activities of the detained individuals.
