Deputy Finance Minister Metodi Metodiev will also participate in the informal meeting of the EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN), the Ministry of Finance announced. He will attend the meetings in Dublin, the capital of the Republic of Ireland, as well as the bilateral talks held as part of the event.

During the meeting, scheduled for September 18 and 19, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Galab Donev will hold separate meetings with the Governor of the Bank of Greece and the Greek Deputy Finance Minister. The primary goal of this series of meetings is for finance ministers to share positions regarding the competitiveness of the European banking sector.

The meeting agenda includes specific working sessions. On September 18, the first session will focus on the theme "The Future of Global Capital – Innovation in the Financial Sector." The second session, taking place on September 19, will be dedicated to "Preparing the Economy for the Future – The Impact of Artificial Intelligence," with participants focusing on the labor market.
