Police say they have shut down two suspected drug labs in the Burgas region in one day, in raids in the village of Prosenik and in Sredets. Five people were detained.
In Prosenik, officers searched the home of a 34-year-old man with a criminal record and a previous conviction. They found a small amount of methamphetamine, electronic scales, a gas cylinder with a burner, acid and various chemicals used to make drugs.
Two other men, aged 36 and 45, and a 29-year-old woman from Kazanlak were also at the property. All four were detained. Police say the 36-year-old is linked to the precursors found there, the chemicals used to make drugs.
The 45-year-old is from Burgas. Hours later, just after he was released, officers stopped him as he drove his own car in Prosenik. A check showed he had used methamphetamine before driving, and he was detained again.
In the second raid, officers searched the home of a 40-year-old man with a criminal record in Sredets. They found one and a half grams of methamphetamine, electronic scales, a gas and an electric hob, a glass pipe and various chemicals used to make drugs. The man was detained.
Police are still working on the Sredets case.
