Miroslav Srebkov and Viktoria Chankova, students at the Academician Nikola Obreshkov High School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Burgas, each won a bronze medal at the International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO) in Indonesia.

The contest ran from October 2 to 7 in West Java and was the 23rd edition of the Olympiad. More than 400 children aged up to 13 from 23 countries took part.

The maths section was in English and had three parts: short-answer problems, problems that needed a full written solution, and research problems.

The two medallists are taught by teachers Stilyana Dimitrova, Ganka Vateva and Tatyana Mechkova. Dinko Radnev and Yoan Vasilev led the Bulgarian team in Indonesia.
