Two Bulgarians have died on beaches near Alexandroupoli

The Greek Coast Guard reported two deaths on beaches in the Alexandroupoli area. The deceased were Bulgarians aged 73 and 82. The incidents occurred on two separate beaches, and emergency teams and police arrived quickly at the scene. Despite maximum efforts, they were unable to save their lives.

The causes of death for the two Bulgarians are still being clarified. A forensic examination has been ordered, which should provide more clarity regarding the circumstances surrounding the two incidents.

Regarding the event, Greek authorities are warning that a new week with very high temperatures is beginning, which will reach 40 degrees. Rescue services advise especially elderly people and children to avoid staying on the beach during midday hours, when the risk of heatstroke is highest.

Meanwhile, police in Thessaloniki are investigating another incident involving a Bulgarian, a truck driver. He reported that he was the victim of an armed robbery in the area of the vegetable market in Thessaloniki. According to him, the attackers stole 32 thousand euros. Investigators are also checking recordings from security cameras.
