Trump thanks Bulgaria for the decision

U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his gratitude to the Bulgarian authorities via a post on the social network "Truth Social." The occasion is our country's decision to authorize the use of the Bezmer Air Base to support U.S. operations in the Middle East, despite threats made by Iran.

"Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister Radev! Bulgaria supports Trump and approves the use of an American air base despite the tensions with Iran," Trump wrote on his profile.

  • Capacity: Up to 8 KC-135 type aircraft and up to 250 military personnel.

On Wednesday, the National Assembly voted to support the mission, with Prime Minister Rumen Radev emphasizing that this is the fulfillment of allied obligations to the U.S. President Iliyana Iotova also defended the decision, stating that Bulgaria is not participating in a war, but fulfilling its duty to NATO.
