The Burgas district court has ordered the Georgian man R.S. held in custody, prosecutors told reporters, after the Burgas district prosecutor's office asked for the measure.

Prosecutors say the man helped 24 Afghan nationals enter and stay in Bulgaria illegally.

The offence took place on September 20, 2026, in the village of Yasna Polyana, in the Burgas region, prosecutors say.

The migrants were riding in a truck that R.S. was driving himself, prosecutors say. Four of them were minors.

The court's ruling can be appealed at the Burgas regional court.
