Burgas becomes a center of pipe culture

On May 31, Burgas will host the prestigious Balkan Pipe Smoking Championship. The sixth edition of the event will take place at the Aqua Hotel, continuing a tradition that has passed through cities such as Istanbul, Bucharest, and Plovdiv.

"The pipe is not a means of demonstrating smoking, but a symbol of tranquility, contemplation, and personal style."

What does the competition include?

Currently, about 30 participants from Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, and Italy have registered. Registration begins at 12:00 PM, and the organizers invite not only competitors but also all enthusiasts of the pipe tradition.

  • Exhibition: Visitors will be able to view a photographic exhibition and handmade pipes.
  • Rules: All participants start on equal terms – identical pipes, same quantity and type of tobacco.
  • Goal: The winner is the one who manages to keep the "ember" alive for as long as possible through patience and technique.

More than a competition, this is a meeting of like-minded people who value the art of slow smoking as a way to achieve inner peace and focus.
