Burgas: Police detain thieves and a driver with alcohol

Over the past 24 hours, two thefts, three other criminal offenses and one traffic accident were registered in the territory of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior - Burgas. One fast-track proceeding has been initiated. Ten crimes have been uncovered.

I. UNCOVERED CRIMES:

As a result of police actions by officers from the "Criminal Police" department at the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior - Burgas and the Sredets Regional Police Department, a 20-year-old with a criminal record from the village of Drachevo, Sredets Municipality, was detained. He was detained for the theft of two vehicles. The crimes were committed on September 29-30 this year. A "Citroen Xsara Picasso" with a Burgas registration, owned by a 71-year-old man from the village, as well as an "Opel Astra", also with a Burgas registration, owned by a 21-year-old man from the village, were stolen. The detainee made full confessions. The police found the "Citroen" self-crashed on the Sredets - Burgas road, about 2 km after the "Avramov Most" in the direction of Burgas. The vehicle was opened through an unlocked door. It was put into motion with the help of the contact key left in the glove compartment. The work on the cases continues by officers of the Sredets Regional Police Department.

On September 30 this year, around 14:05 in the village of Galabets, Pomorie Municipality, officers from the Pomorie Regional Police Department stopped a "Ford Mondeo" for inspection, without registration numbers, driven by a 41-year-old man from the village of Galabets, Pomorie Municipality. It was found that he was driving after consuming alcohol with a concentration of 1.45 per mille. The driver refused to give a blood sample for chemical analysis. He was detained for a period of up to 24 hours, and the car was seized. A fast-track proceeding has been initiated in the case.

II. TRAFFIC ACCIDENT:

On September 30 this year, around 09:10 at the intersection of the Burgas streets "Zahari Stoyanov" and "Kapitan Petko Voivoda", a light vehicle "Peugeot Boxer" with a Burgas registration, driven by a 31-year-old from Burgas, due to driving at a speed not commensurate with the traffic, crashed from behind into a light vehicle "Opel Astra", also with a Burgas registration, driven by a 74-year-old from Burgas, which had stopped to make a left turn. As a result of the accident, the driver of the "Opel" was injured. He was admitted to the "Burgasmed" hospital with a concussion. His 73-year-old companion, his wife, who suffered a broken thoracic vertebra, was also injured and was also admitted for treatment at the "Burgasmed" hospital.
