Over 250 saplings will be distributed to Burgas residents on the occasion of Forest Week 2026 as part of a special environmental action to hand in old furniture and other wood waste for recycling.

The initiative will take place on April 10 (Friday) from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in front of Park Arena OZK – Slavyanov Swimming Pool and aims to promote sustainable forest management, the reuse of resources, and the preservation of biodiversity.

Residents and guests of the city will be able to hand in old furniture and other wood waste – such as boards, pallets, doors, cabinets, wardrobes, tables, chairs (without textiles), paneling, and packaging – in a specially placed blue container. For each active participant, the organizers have prepared gifts, including trees, shrubs, and other material prizes, with the total number of saplings provided exceeding 250.

The event will also offer the opportunity for more information on the benefits of recycling, as well as the presentation of photos and videos related to biodiversity in Bulgaria.

The action is realized by Burgas Municipality, Burgas State Forestry, “Kronospan” Bulgaria, and the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation.
