Where to get free water in Sofia?

Due to extreme temperatures, the Sofia Municipality is continuing its campaign to distribute free bottled water to residents and guests of the city. The initiative aims to provide necessary hydration during the hottest hours of the day.

Citizens are urged to avoid direct sunlight and to consume more fluids, especially vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.

Schedule and distribution points:

  • On the weekend: The distribution point in front of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) by the pylons is open after 12:00 PM.
  • From Monday: Distribution continues after 12:00 PM until supplies run out at three locations:
    • In front of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski"
    • At "Serdika" metro station
    • At the pylons of the NDK

Additional measures for coping with the heat

In addition to water distribution, the Municipality regularly carries out the watering of 58 main boulevards and squares in the capital. There are also 170 public fountains available throughout Sofia. If you notice a non-functioning fountain, you can report it through the official platform of the Sofia Municipality.
