Accident at the "Chervenakovo" pumping station: Eight villages in Nova Zagora municipality left without water

Critical failure interrupts water supply in Nova Zagora region

Due to a serious failure of the main water pipeline serving the "Chervenakovo" central pumping station, residents of eight settlements are left without water. Repair works began at 9:00 PM on August 19.

The villages affected by the interruption are: Stoil voyvoda, Ezero, Bogdanovo, Lyubenets, Lyubenova mahala, Mlekarevo, Byal kladenets, and Radetski.

When will the water supply be restored?

"Water Supply and Sewerage – Sliven" OOD has not yet specified a concrete deadline for resolving the failure. Teams are working to restore the infrastructure, but the situation remains unclear.

The problem with the depreciated network

This failure once again brings the issue of the outdated water supply network in the region to the forefront. Back in July, the mayor of Nova Zagora, Galya Zaharieva, insisted on urgent funding for the design and replacement of the pipes. The problem is systemic, as the route passes through 10 settlements, and parts of it run under residential buildings in the "Shesti" neighborhood.
