Busy night for the fire department: 111 incident reports across the country

Over the past 24 hours, the teams of the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection (GDFSPP) responded to a total of 111 incident reports. Firefighters managed to extinguish 71 fires, and fortunately, there were no deaths or injuries during the incidents.

17 fires resulted in direct material damage, while 54 were brought under control without serious damage.

Major incidents in the country:

  • Village of Ustrem: 30 round bales were destroyed in a farmyard following a fire, which was brought under control by teams from Topolovgrad and Lyubimets.
  • Sofia, Obelya residential complex: A BMW X5 passenger car was completely destroyed by fire.
  • Sofia, Nadezhda 2 residential complex: A fire in a guarded parking lot destroyed an Iveco Daily tow truck and affected neighboring vehicles.
  • Sofia, Lyulin 5 residential complex: A fire in an apartment destroyed household property and smoke-damaged 30 square meters of walls. Evacuation of the building was not necessary.

Statistics show that 7 of the fires occurred in residential buildings, 2 in outbuildings, and 4 in transport vehicles. 35 rescue operations were also carried out, and 5 false calls were recorded.
