A total of 52 fires were extinguished in the country over the past 24 hours, with no fatalities or injured people reported in any of the incidents. This was announced by the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population".
Between 00:00 and 24:00 on 6 June, firefighting teams responded to a total of 123 calls for various incidents, including fires, rescue operations and auxiliary interventions.
Of all 52 extinguished fires, 12 caused direct material damage. Three of them occurred in residential buildings, one in an auxiliary, temporary or makeshift structure, and six in vehicles.
The remaining 40 fires did not result in material damage. Of these, 12 were registered in dry grass, forest litter and shrubs, 27 in waste, and one in a cooking appliance or chimney.
During the 24‑hour period, 60 rescue activities and auxiliary operations were also carried out. Eight of them were related to traffic accidents, one to an incident involving hazardous substances, and the remaining 51 were classified as technical assistance.
These technical operations included providing support to structures of the Ministry of Interior, removing dangerous objects, rescuing animals, assisting citizens and draining flooded areas or facilities.
It was also reported that there were 11 false alarms, which engaged the resources of the fire services without real necessity.
On 6 June at 13:59, the operations centre of the regional directorate in Burgas received a signal about a fire on the premises of a vegetable market, in which a truck was affected. Three fire engines with a total of nine firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene.
