Ukrainian man, 37, found dead on beach in Sunny Beach
The body of a 37-year-old Ukrainian man was found on the beach in front of the Delfin hotel in Sunny Beach, Burgas regional police (ODMVR) said. Police have opened pre-trial proceedings, and an autopsy will show what caused his death.
Police in Nesebar received a report of a drowned man at about 3:20pm yesterday, 12 October. Officers went to the scene and identified him. He was a Ukrainian citizen who lived in Sveti Vlas and was in Bulgaria under temporary protection.
The body was taken to the forensic medicine department of the University Hospital in Burgas. The autopsy results have not been announced yet.
Police have not said how the incident happened, when the man went into the water or whether there were any witnesses. No injuries, health problem or other cause of death have been made public.
It is not the first such case this year. In July, the body of a 79-year-old Ukrainian man was found on the beach in the resort, and another Ukrainian, 66, was found lifeless near the Delfin lifeguard post.
In September, a 63-year-old Ukrainian man drowned in the sea near Sunny Beach, by the Dune hotel. The report went to Nesebar police, and the body was taken to the forensic medicine department of the University Hospital in Burgas.
The prosecutor's office is supervising the pre-trial proceedings.
