The Bright Holiday of Bulgarian Spirituality

On May 24th, we celebrate one of the brightest and most unifying holidays in the Bulgarian calendar – the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture, and of Slavic literature.

This is the day on which we pay deserved tribute to the work of the creators of the Slavic alphabet and to all those who, throughout the centuries, have turned knowledge into the most valuable capital of our people.

Burgas – the City of Knowledge and the Future

This year, Burgas will once again be the center of the festive spirit. Over 10,000 children, pupils, students, and teachers will march through the city streets to the sounds of "Varvi, narode vazrodeni" (Go Forth, O Reborn People).

  • Respect for traditions: The procession is a symbol of continuity.
  • Modern education: Burgas invests in its young talents.
  • Gratitude: Appreciation for all the enlighteners who build the spiritual identity of the city.

Let us continue to cherish the love for education and be worthy heirs to the work of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius. Happy May 24th!
