Burgas welcomes the Green Weekend with a biodiversity carnival and a rich program

Burgas welcomed the Green Weekend with a colorful carnival of biodiversity, in which a record number of 270 children participated despite the rain. The children paraded through the central streets of the city, dressed as marine creatures and animals, demonstrating their creativity and enthusiasm for nature conservation. Due to the bad weather, the participants were unable to parade in the seaside garden, but this did not dampen their spirits. They proudly showcased their costumes and talked about the animals they had chosen, which included pink flamingos, crabs, fish, and even jellyfish.

The carnival is the first event in the rich program of the Green Weekend, organized by the Municipality of Burgas to promote the theme of environmental protection and biodiversity. RIOSV-Burgas will complement the thematic weekend with Open Door Days at the Bird Observation Shelter "Atanasovsko Lake", on the occasion of the European Day of "Natura 2000".

In addition to the carnival, the program includes a number of other events, such as the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup, Solisimi - Youth Music Days, "Capybara's Breakfast" - an outdoor painting art workshop, the "Donate a Cap, Save a Life" campaign, "Burgas on Three Lakes and One Sea" - a carnival of biodiversity, "I Love You, Sea" - a poetry recital, "Sport for Every Child" - the closing of a campaign, a walking tour with lectures, public feeding of animals in the zoo, a folklore performance, a Night of the Museums, a concert-performance, "Greenborg - a bicycle trip along the salt road", Power of Burgas - a day dedicated to a healthy lifestyle, as well as Eco activities with Coworking Family.

The Green Weekend in Burgas is part of the local government's efforts to promote the theme of environmental protection and biodiversity, actively engaging children and young people in various educational and fun initiatives.
