The National Song Contest "Burgas and the Sea" 2025 is accepting applications for participation until June 15. The purpose of the contest is to discover and promote new Bulgarian musical talents, with a professional jury selecting up to 12 finalists from all the songs received.

In the first stage, 30 blocks have been approved, and their renovation is already underway. Active efforts to build bicycle and pedestrian routes around the lakes in Burgas
The Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation (BBF) has been working for more than a year to create new routes for cyclists, pedestrians, and motorists around the lakes in Burgas, in order to connect people with the natural environment and provide access to these areas without harming their inhabitants. The organization collaborates with the Municipality of Burgas and local enthusiasts to test and improve routes, such as the one around Lake Mandra.

Burgas doctors and volunteers honored 25 regular blood donors
In Burgas, a ceremony was held on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, where 25 regular donors were awarded. The event was organized by the Bulgarian Red Cross and the University Hospital Burgas. Among the honorees are people who have donated blood dozens of times, as well as those who have taken their first step. Certificates were also presented for overall contribution to saving human life.

The German security services suspect that Russia is sending reconnaissance drones that are launched from ships in the North and Baltic Seas. Increased observations of drones near military and industrial facilities in Germany have led to intensified checks of ships, but so far no specific source of this activity has been found.
Quick police response reveals an accomplice in a phone fraud in Plovdiv
Criminalists from ODMVR - Plovdiv uncovered and detained within less than a day an accomplice in a telephone fraud, in which an elderly woman from the city was robbed of 10,000 levs. The swift operational actions and the detention of a 52-year-old man who played the role of an intermediary have been reported to the District Prosecutor's Office - Plovdiv.
The police uncovered a high-tech drug greenhouse in a village in Burgas region.
Three men with a criminal record, aged 50 to 58, were arrested during a specialized police operation in the village of Suhodol, Burgas region. In the yard of a private property, a high-tech greenhouse for growing 240 cannabis plants, equipped with an autonomous power production system and specialized equipment, was discovered. The detained individuals have been charged with a crime under the Criminal Code and are awaiting the imposition of a permanent measure of restraint.

The Deputy Prime Minister Karadjov signs contracts worth nearly half a billion levs for digital connectivity in remote areas.
The government signed six contracts worth over 443 million leva for the construction of digital networks in the country, in order to provide high-speed internet access even in sparsely populated regions. The project will lead to a significant improvement of the digital infrastructure and will create prerequisites for business development and improvement of the demographic picture in these areas.
Repair activities on a 3-kilometer section of the Trakia Motorway in Burgas region
The Road Infrastructure Agency is repairing the asphalt pavement in the lane for Burgas on the Trakia Motorway between km 339 and km 342. Traffic is only allowed in the overtaking lane, with the active and emergency lanes closed for passage. The repair work will continue until June 13 and is necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of travelers.
