A large-scale expert meeting was held at the Ministry of Tourism, dedicated to the challenges facing the Bulgarian tourism industry in introducing the euro. The forum occupied the attention of key state institutions and industry organizations, which analyzed the critical aspects of the upcoming transition.

Minister Miroslav Borshosh opened the working meeting with the categorical position that the tourism sector is among the most prepared for integration into the European economic space. He called on participants to engage in open dialogue and constructive discussion of emerging issues.

A key point in the discussion was the conditions for introducing dual pricing for tourism services offered by Bulgarian companies through international platforms. National legislative bodies proposed extending the transition period until September 8, which was supported by the business community.

Maria Filipova, Chair of the Consumer Protection Commission, emphasized that the main goal is not to impose sanctions, but to achieve balance and stability in the sector. "We are seeking partnership with businesses to correctly inform consumers about the upcoming changes," she stated.

Experts discussed in detail the requirements for tour operators registered in the country but operating primarily in foreign markets. The emphasis was placed on the need for preventive measures to avoid potential legal violations.

By the end of the meeting, a principled agreement was reached for industry representatives to systematize their proposals and questions. These will be provided to the Ministry of Tourism and the Consumer Protection Commission, which in turn will present them to the parliamentary committees on tourism and budget.

"This approach will send a clear signal to the legislator about the need for an in-depth analysis and possible regulatory changes," Minister Borshosh concluded, outlining the prospects for future sector development.
