A meeting of the Municipal Consultative Tourism Council to Mayor Nikolay Dimitrov was held in the most modern information center in Bulgaria, where the new Tourism Development Strategy for the Municipality of Nessebar for the period 2026–2035 was presented.

The document, published on the municipality's official website, outlines the main directions for the development of the leading sector for the Black Sea coast and the establishment of Nessebar as a sustainable tourist destination. The strategy envisages diversification of the tourism product, development of green tourism, digitalization, training of personnel and implementation of environmental measures for long-term economic and social growth. It reinforces the policy of active promotion of the Municipality of Nessebar as a competitive tourist center.

“The Municipality of Nessebar is an active participant in international tourism exhibitions, where together with the Ministry of Tourism we promote the Nessebar – Sunny Beach destination. Our last participation was a few days ago in Stuttgart,” said Mayor Nikolay Dimitrov. He emphasized that the good relations with partners from Poland, Germany and other countries contribute to the growing interest in the local tourism product.

During the meeting with representatives of the tourism industry, both currently active mechanisms for extending the tourist season, in accordance with the specifics of the local economy and tourist demand, as well as the possibilities for the effective protection of licensed market participants, were discussed. The business presented proposals related to the improvement of infrastructure, expansion of transport connectivity, opening of new airlines and extension of the flight season of charter flights.

“Every year we expand the event calendar of the municipality and supplement the cultural program with festivals, concerts, exhibitions, theatrical and educational events in the off-season. By sustainably using the cultural and historical heritage, we aim to stimulate attendance outside the peak months and to create a more balanced tourist flow,” said Mayor Dimitrov.
