A large-scale national conference dedicated to the strategic development of the tourism sector will be held on June 27, 2025, at the Katarino Spa Hotel in the city of Razlog. The forum "The Future of Tourism in Bulgaria and Europe - Image, Innovation, Development" brings together key figures from European institutions, government administration, and the tourism industry.
The official opening is planned for 9 AM with the participation of Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh, Regional Governor Georgi Dinev, Razlog Mayor Krasimir Gerchev, and MEP Andrey Novakov. Among the special guests will also be Nikolina Barnyats – MEP and member of the Transport and Tourism Committee.
In his opening statement, Minister Borshosh emphasized the critical need for coordinated actions between different management levels. "The sector needs an innovative approach that guarantees sustainability and competitiveness in modern economic conditions," he stated.
The conference will include two thematic panels focused on the European perspective for tourism development and Bulgaria's potential as a year-round destination. Participants in the discussions include Desislav Taskov – chairman of the Tourism Committee, Dr. Siyka Katsarova from the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism, and Dr. Polina Karastoyanova – Executive Director of the National Tourism Board.
The initiative is seen as a strategic step to strengthen international dialogue and build a long-term vision for positioning Bulgaria as an attractive tourist destination. The event aims to outline innovative solutions and approaches for sector development in the context of new European realities.
