The Ministry of Tourism organized a large-scale international presentation of Bulgarian cultural heritage within the prestigious UNESCO forum. Specially invited by Minister Miroslav Borshosh, world-renowned researcher Prof. Bethany Hughes presented the documentary film "Treasures of Bulgaria" at the organization's headquarters in Paris.
The film offers an exceptional panoramic vision of national wealth - from the mysterious mountain ranges of the Rhodopes to the picturesque Black Sea coast. Through masterful storytelling technique, Prof. Hughes manages to capture the authentic monastery complexes and preserved folk traditions that make Bulgaria unique.
As an established media expert, Bethany Hughes is co-founder of SandStone Global - a production company with international recognition. Her documentary productions are part of the programs of leading television channels such as BBC, National Geographic, Discovery, and Netflix.
The main goal of the event was to demonstrate Bulgaria's long-term commitment to preserving cultural and natural heritage. The Ministry emphasized the importance of international cooperation to ensure that future generations will be able to touch these exceptional monuments.
Bulgaria can be proud of three sites included in the UNESCO World Heritage List - the ancient city of Nessebar, the Thracian Tomb in Kazanlak, and the magnificent Rila Monastery. These landmarks are not just historical sites, but living testimonies of national identity.
In his official statement, the Minister of Tourism emphasized Prof. Hughes' exceptional contribution, describing her work as an inspiring mission to share human stories. "Her narrative goes beyond mere documentation and transforms cultural heritage into a dynamic source of knowledge," he said.
For her part, Prof. Bethany Hughes expressed gratitude for the opportunity to present the documentary film, which aims to promote Bulgaria's centuries-old cultural heritage to the international community.
