The new stars of Burgas Zoo: Rare pumas have arrived in our country
Two extremely rare and impressive animals can now be seen at Burgas Zoo – young pumas, the only representatives of their species in Bulgaria. The big cats arrived from a friendly zoo and are already adapting to their new home.
The pair is about ten months old. The male is named Stanley and is quickly winning over visitors with his social and curious character. The female does not have a name yet.
Living conditions and adaptation
The pumas' new home spans an area of over half a decare and is equipped with everything necessary for their comfort and development:
- Spacious areas for movement
- Climbing spots
- Shelters for tranquility
- Special play areas
Curious facts about pumas
Pumas, also known as "mountain lions," originate from the Americas and are exceptional athletes. They can jump over 4 meters high and more than 10 meters in length. At Burgas Zoo, the young animals are fed selected high-quality chicken and beef.
