Healthcare Rights: Meeting in Nessebar Informs Citizens

A meeting at the Artium Center, organized with the support of the Municipality of Nessebar, focused on the health of citizens, providing them with valuable information about their rights in the healthcare system. The event, part of the extensive Campaign of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) under the motto "NHIF for you", was opened by the director of the Regional Health Insurance Fund (RHIF) – Burgas, Mrs. Todorka Savova-Hadjiyaneva.

The atmosphere in the Artium Center was lively, with great interest from those present in the topics discussed. Long lines of people had formed to receive specific clarifications regarding their rights in various areas of healthcare. Attendees received detailed information about their rights in hospital, outpatient, and dental care.

Information was also presented on the change in the procedure for obtaining assistive devices, such as wheelchairs and walkers. The novelty is that patients can now receive these funds through an innovative method designed to facilitate the process, rather than through the traditional social assistance directorates.

One of the key presentations at the meeting was dedicated to the eHealth mobile application. This application allows insured citizens to access their personal patient file, containing all electronic health documents entered in the National Health Information System. It was explained on the spot how anyone wishing to do so can install the application on their smartphone and activate it either with an electronic signature or at the RHIF offices. In the territory of the Municipality of Nessebar, the RHIF office is located in Health House – Nessebar.

During the meeting, which lasted over two hours, those present asked many questions regarding various aspects of healthcare. Experts from the RHIF provided detailed answers on topics such as hospital stays and emergency medical care.

At the end of the event, Mrs. Hadjiyaneva expressed gratitude for the activity and interest in the campaign. She emphasized that the meeting is the beginning of a future partnership with the Municipality of Nessebar for the benefit of citizens.

Among those present at the Artium Center were representatives of medical facilities from the Municipality of Nessebar, as well as representatives of disability organizations, together with members of the pensioners' club. The presence of these organizations underscores the importance of the event and its focus on all population groups.
