Wind and Sun: This Week's Weather Forecast in Bulgaria

A CLEAR AND SUNNY WEEK BEGINS IN THE COUNTRY, BUT THE STRONG WIND MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS

Today, over most of the country, the day begins with calm and predominantly sunny weather, which promises a pleasant start to the new week. However, forecasters warn of a significant increase in wind in certain areas, which may change the feeling of comfort and require increased caution.

Situation in the country

The forecasts for the day are for predominantly sunny weather, but there are also short periods with temporary increases in cloudiness. The main factor that will influence the meteorological situation is the wind. It will remain moderate, coming from the west-northwest, but in the Danubian Plain, it is expected to strengthen, reaching temporarily strong gusts. These changes may have an impact on the daily life of people in the region, and strong winds are often accompanied by a change in the perceived temperature.

Maximum temperatures for the country will range widely – between 26° and 31° Celsius, which promises warm, even hot weather. In the capital Sofia, thermometers will show slightly lower values, with between 25° and 26° expected, creating ideal conditions for walks and outdoor activities.

Forecast for the mountains and the Black Sea coast

The picture is similar in the mountains, where the morning will be predominantly sunny, and the sky – clear. In the afternoon, however, a temporary increase in cloudiness will be observed over the Rila-Rhodope region. Mountain hikers must prepare for strong winds – it will be moderate overall, but along the ridge of the Central Balkan Mountains, temporarily strong gusts from the west-northwest are expected. Temperatures at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 18°, while at 2000 meters they will drop to around 12°, which makes carrying appropriate equipment mandatory.

On the Black Sea coast, the day will be perfect for a vacation. Predominantly sunny weather with temporary increases in cloudiness is expected. The sea breeze will be weak to moderate from the north-northwest, which will create a pleasant feeling. In the second half of the day, after noon and in the evening, its direction will change, orienting from the south-southeast. Maximum temperatures along the coast will be between 27° and 30°, and the temperature of the sea water remains between 24° and 26°, which makes it extremely pleasant for swimming. The sea swell is expected to be weak – 1-2 on the Beaufort scale.
