Dry roads after two days of rain
Thursday in Burgas is dry from morning to evening. The chance of precipitation is zero, and the sky is clear all day. Drivers will have better traction and less water at intersections, but in low-lying spots around underpasses and in the ditches beside the road, puddles will stay until noon.
It is coldest early in the morning, around 3 degrees. Anyone parking outside will find the windows damp or fogged up, so leave five minutes earlier and clear them. There is unlikely to be ice on the asphalt, but on bridges and in the shaded bends toward Aytos and Sredets the road surface may stay wet.
Construction workers, people at the port and market vendors will feel the cold most until 9 or 10 o'clock. The north wind makes it more biting, and gloves will not be superfluous.
From 6 degrees at 8 a.m. to 11 at noon
The sun rises at 06:47. At 8 o'clock it is 6 degrees, the sky is mostly clear, and humidity is 68 percent.
It is warmest around 2 p.m., about 11 degrees, and humidity drops to 45 percent. In the sun and out of the wind it is pleasant to sit, but in the wind it feels like no more than 7 degrees. The UV index is 2, the sun does not burn, and sunscreen is not needed.
Sunset is at 17:00, and it cools down quickly afterwards. At 8 p.m. the thermometer shows 5 degrees with humidity of 73 percent, and the night is clear and cold.
North wind with gusts up to 30 km/h
The wind blows from the north, around 16 km/h, in gusts up to 30, but yesterday it was stronger. It is felt most on the Bridge, on the beach near Sarafovo and in the open around the Ear, while in the neighborhoods farther inland it hardly bothers anyone. The wind also disperses pollution, so the air today is excellent, with an index of 18.
Murky water and almost no jellyfish in the bay
Two days of rain and a cold north wind are cooling the sea off Burgas. After the rains, a lot of fresh water flows into the bay from the rivers and lakes, and near the beaches the sea is murkier than usual.
Jellyfish like warm, calm water, and in cold weather with waves from the north in November they are almost never seen near the shore.
Autumn is the season for horse mackerel and black scorpionfish, and fishermen from Kraymorie and Sarafovo go out when the sea is calm. With gusts up to 30 km/h, small boats had better wait. Gulls and cormorants gather on the breakwaters and in the port, and the clear sky is good for birdwatching near Vaya and Atanasovsko Lake.
Jacket in the morning, sweater at noon, headlights after 5 p.m.
In the morning a warm jacket, hat and gloves are needed, especially for children who walk to school. At noon in the sun a sweater is enough, but in the evening it gets cold again.
The best time for running and cycling is between 12 and 3 p.m., when it is around 11 degrees and dry. In the Sea Garden the paths dry quickly, but under the trees there are wet leaves and you should ride slowly on the bends. Anyone cycling north along the coast will be pedaling against the wind.
On the road to Aytos and Karnobat after 4 p.m. the sun is low ahead and dazzling, so sunglasses in the car help. After sunset at 17:00 Thursday traffic in Burgas is in the dark, and headlights should be on already from the city.
Tomorrow is colder in the morning
On Friday morning it will be around 1 degree, up to 12 during the day, mostly clear and without rain, with a wind from the west.
