Weather in Bulgaria: Cloudy with rain in many places

Today, the country will be covered by mostly cloudy weather, which will bring rain in places, especially in the western regions, reports BNR, citing the forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology. Precipitation is expected to spread to the central parts of the country during the night.

The wind will be weak, and in the eastern regions it will strengthen to moderate, blowing from east-northeast. Thermometers will show maximum temperatures between 15° and 20°, with around 15° predicted for the capital.

The situation in the mountains will be similar, with cloudy weather and fog in the high parts. Rain is expected in the massifs of Western Bulgaria, and snow may occur on the highest peaks. The wind there will be light to moderate from east-southeast, and in the highest parts - from the west. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will reach about 11°, while at 2000 meters it will be around 5°.

Over the Black Sea coast, cloud cover will be significant. The wind will weaken and will blow mainly from east-northeast, and will be moderate. The maximum temperatures will vary between 18° and 20°. The sea water temperature will be between 21° and 22°, and the sea swell is expected to be around 3 degrees.

The NIMH forecast for the next week predicts continued cloudy weather with precipitation. During the second half of the week, under the influence of Mediterranean cyclones passing south of the country, a precipitation situation will be created. Significant amounts of precipitation are expected in many places, and in some places in the Rilo-Rodope region, the amounts will exceed the monthly norms.

On Monday, cloudy weather will prevail throughout the country. There will be precipitation in many places, and in individual regions the amounts will be significant. The moderate northeast wind will continue to blow. Minimum temperatures will vary between 7° and 12°, and maximum temperatures - between 13° and 18°. On Tuesday and Wednesday, more significant temporary breaks in the cloud cover are also expected, and light rain will fall only in individual places in the mountainous regions.

Daytime temperatures will rise slightly, reaching and exceeding 20° in places, but morning temperatures will be lower, especially in the valleys and in the areas with significant breaks in the cloud cover.

On Thursday, rain will start from the southwest, and in the mountains above 1800 meters - snow, which will cover Western Bulgaria by the evening. On Friday and Saturday, the weather will remain cloudy with widespread rain, and in the mountains above 1500 meters - snow. Significant amounts are expected. A moderate, and in Eastern Bulgaria - strong northeast wind will blow. The prevailing maximum temperatures will be between 10° and 15°, in the eastern regions up to 18°, and the minimum - between 6° and 11°.
