Weather in Bulgaria: Cloudy, foggy, and temperature changes

During the night, the sky over the western and central regions will be covered with more and more clouds, which will hide the stars. The atmosphere will be almost windless, as if the whole country is holding its breath. In the Danube Plain, thick fog will envelop everything, and after midnight, similar fog will form again, this time mainly in the southeastern part of the country and in the Upper Thracian Lowland. This became clear from information from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

Thermometers will show minimum temperatures between 0 and 5 degrees, with around 2 degrees expected in the capital.

Tomorrow, there will continue to be high cloudiness over the country, which will hide the sun's rays. In the Danube Plain, fog will remain predominant in many places throughout the day, and the weather will be calm. The persistent fog will envelop the southern half of the country until noon. Around and after noon, a wind from the south-southwest is expected to blow, which will be moderate north of the mountains and in the eastern regions.

Maximum temperatures are predicted to be between 16 and 21 degrees, while in the Danube Plain, where the fog will last longer, they will be between 8 and 13 degrees. In Sofia, the temperature is expected to reach around 17 degrees.

Along the Black Sea coast, visibility will be reduced in some places in the morning due to fog. During the day, there will be scattered high cloudiness. Around and after noon, a moderate, and at times strong, wind from the south-southwest is expected. Maximum temperatures along the coast will be between 18 and 21 degrees. The sea water temperature is expected to be between 14 and 16 degrees. The sea swell will be around 2 points.

Over the mountains, there will also be significant high and medium cloudiness. The wind from the south-southwest will strengthen, and will be stormy in the highest parts. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 18 degrees, and at 2000 meters - around 11 degrees.

Cloudy weather with rainfall is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, which will be more significant in Northern and Western Bulgaria. The orientation of the wind from the northwest will lead to a short-term penetration of cold air. Minimum temperatures on Wednesday will be from 6 to 11 degrees, and maximums - between 10 and 15 degrees. In the southeastern regions, where a moderate wind from the south-southwest will continue to blow, the weather will remain relatively warm, with minimum temperatures up to 16-17 degrees and maximums up to 20-22 degrees.
