Winter, it seems, is not going away easily. This week and next, the Balkan Peninsula will become an arena for rapidly passing cyclones, foreshadowing weather strongly reminiscent of the British – dynamic and changeable. These predictions came from meteorologist Petar Yankov in the studio of "Bulgaria Morning."

Warmth and then... change

Today, temperatures in the southwestern regions are expected to reach around 13-14 degrees Celsius. This is well above the usual for February, about 2-3 degrees higher than normal. Is this mild start just a delusion?

Tomorrow, however, we expect a decrease – between 5 and 11 degrees. There will be quite a bit of precipitation, mostly rain, and in the mountains – wet snow. It's strange how we'll experience such a transformation in a short time. More significant precipitation is expected at the beginning of next week, Monday and Tuesday, when a snow cover of about 10-15 centimeters may form on the peaks.

Is it worth planning Saturday outdoors?

Fortunately, the northwestern regions will be spared from the precipitation tomorrow. Saturday will be mostly sunny, although the day will start with rain on the Black Sea coast, which will quickly pass. Let's remember that on February 14th – Valentine's Day – there will be variable cloudiness. Nevertheless, in the mountains above 2500 meters, temperatures will drop to minus 5-6 degrees. Will the mountains be in a romantic snowy outfit or will they remain gray?

On Sunday, around noon, precipitation will cover the whole country, concentrating mainly over the eastern regions in the late afternoon. This day will not be suitable for skiing or snowboarding, especially in the high parts of the mountain. Temperatures will be between 3 and 8 degrees, and it will also snow in the mountains. Can at least one good winter weekend be predicted?

Warming and new precipitation – what awaits us?

On Wednesday there will be a noticeable warming. Thursday will again surprise us with rain and snow, accompanied by a sharp drop in temperatures. In the populated areas on Thursday and Friday, the temperatures will be from 1 to 5-6 degrees. Will we say goodbye to the warmth again?

The next precipitation, which will bring cooling, is expected around February 23-24. Is winter really resisting?
