Military strikes against Iran: Bulgaria calls for a diplomatic solution

The Government of the Republic of Bulgaria expresses concern about the latest military actions directed against the nuclear installations of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The country emphasizes that Iran should not be allowed to develop a nuclear program with military purposes, and considers that the preservation of the international legal order and the mechanisms for arms control and non-proliferation is of utmost importance.

In accordance with the findings and recommendations of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and other international organizations, Bulgaria calls for the de-escalation of tension and diplomatic efforts to find a solution to the situation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs maintains constant coordination with partners from the European Union and NATO in order to preserve regional and global stability.
