In the coming hours, the weather in Bulgaria will undergo a serious change. Following warmer temperatures, a cold arctic mass is on its way, which will bring rainy and cloudy days.

Expected precipitation and drop in temperatures

Rain is expected this afternoon, which will cover a larger part of the country by evening. Although temperatures will initially reach 17-22 degrees, the penetration of cold air from the northeast will significantly lower them.

In tomorrow's day, we await rainy and quite cold weather with November-like temperatures.

Snow in the mountains and danger of frost

• Precipitation: Heavy rainfall is expected with amounts between 15 and 25 liters per sq.m., and in some places up to 40 liters.
• Snow: Snow will fall above 1500-1700 meters in the mountains.
• Danger: On Friday and Saturday, there is a serious danger of frost, especially in the western and northeastern parts of the country.

What awaits during the weekend and next week?

On Saturday, cloudiness will be cumulus with possible local thunderstorms, and temperatures will stabilize between 12 and 18 degrees. On Sunday, the weather will be less cloudy, but with a persistent danger of low temperatures during the night.

The good news: On Monday, the weather will improve noticeably, with the western parts of the country becoming sunny and warm (up to 24-25 degrees). Very pleasant weather is also expected for the holiday of St. George's Day!
