New rules for length of service
From January 1, 2026, one day of length of service will be recognized for the time during which the employee has worked the full statutory working hours for the day. For part-time work, the length of service will be calculated proportionally.
Tax relief for children in 2026
Parliament has determined the amounts that are deducted from the annual tax bases for children:
- For one child: 3067.75 euros
- For two children: 6135.50 euros
- For three or more children: 9203.25 euros
- For children with disabilities: 6135.50 euros
Opposition comment: Political figures expressed dissatisfaction with the freezing of family allowances and the reduction of subsidies for religious denominations.
Restructuring of institutions
The deputies decided to prepare a proposal for the closure of the Dossier Commission and the transfer of its activities to the State Archives Agency. Proposals for the closure of other regulatory bodies such as the CPC, CEM, and EWRC were rejected.
