Greek authorities confiscated and destroyed over 2 tons of Bulgarian dairy products transported without refrigeration and in an overloaded truck along the Makaza – Komotini route.

Greek regulatory authorities confiscated and destroyed over two tons of dairy products originating from Bulgaria during an inspection of a freight vehicle on the Makaza – Komotini road.

The inspection was carried out by teams from the Independent Authority for Public Revenue as part of intensified controls against illegal transport and trade in food products. The truck, which had foreign registration, was stopped for inspection shortly after crossing the border checkpoint.

During the inspection, it was established that the vehicle was transporting a large quantity of dairy products without the necessary refrigeration equipment, as required by Greek legislation for this type of cargo. Furthermore, it turned out that the truck was overloaded by approximately 1.5 tons over the permitted maximum.

Following an additional check conducted with the assistance of the Veterinary Service of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, the competent authorities concluded that the products were unfit for consumption and posed a serious risk to public health, as they were transported without any refrigeration.

The entire quantity of dairy products was confiscated and subsequently destroyed in accordance with established procedures. The offenders were issued the penalties prescribed by law – both for overloading the vehicle and for transporting food dangerous to health.

The Greek Independent Authority for Public Revenue stated that intensified checks on the road network will continue with the aim of curbing illegal trade, protecting public health, and ensuring fair competition among honest market participants.

Абе, сериозно ли?! Два тона мляко и сирена?! Как така стигаме до тук, бе хора? Това майсторлъци ли са или просто не може да се организира нещо нормално в тая държава?
