Students and teachers from across the country are participating in the Laboratory for Digital and Media Literacy.

The host of the three-day event was the German Language High School "Goethe" in Burgas, with its students participating in a lesson on modern journalism - manipulation and truth, presented by the teacher Yana Plachkova from the Vocational High School of Construction and Architecture in Pazardzhik. The children presented civic education projects aimed at digital literacy for older people, as well as the "Link" project related to the digitalization of the "Petko Zadgorski" Art Gallery. A historical project on the National Revival period with elements generated by artificial intelligence was also presented.

Before the event, the young people had the opportunity to talk to experts from various fields - journalists and lecturers on neural networks and artificial intelligence. Within the framework of the laboratory, the participants went through a series of interactive trainings and lectures, solving practical tasks for the development of media messages and campaigns, games and simulations for the recognition of disinformation, cyberbullying and unfair online practices.

Months before the final event, the schools have also worked on creating a website with educational resources and a platform for lessons and video content on YouTube, which will develop the digital competencies of teachers and students. A collection of good educational practices and teaching materials on current topics of digital and media literacy will also be published.

In the laboratory, in addition to the German Language High School "Goethe", the following also participated: 51st Secondary School "Elisaveta Bagryana" and 2nd English Language High School "Thomas Jefferson" - Sofia, 6th Secondary School "St. Cyril and Methodius" - Pernik, Secondary School "Georgi Benkovski" - Teteven, Professional High School of Mathematics and Science "Acad. Ivan Gyuzelev" - Gabrovo, Secondary School "St. Prince Boris I" in the village of Starcevo, Secondary School "Otets Paisiy" - Kardzhali, Vocational High School of Construction and Architecture - Pazardzhik, Primary School "Svetlina" in the village of Topolica and Secondary School "Bishop Konstantin Preslavski" - Burgas.
