Trump Extends Ceasefire Between Israel and Lebanon, Awaits Deal with Iran

Israel and Lebanon agreed to extend the ceasefire in Southern Lebanon by three weeks, with the mediation of US President Donald Trump. The meeting was held at the White House, where the conditions for extending the truce were discussed.

Trump shared that he is ready to wait to achieve the "best deal" for the end of the conflict with Iran. The rise in oil prices, especially Brent crude, was also commented on, with the price exceeding $105 per barrel.

Lebanon's Ambassador to Washington, Nada Moawad, expressed gratitude to Trump for his efforts, stating that with his help, Lebanon can become great again. Trump responded with approval, saying he liked that phrase.

Trump emphasized that despite the extension of the truce, hopes for a permanent ceasefire in Southern Lebanon remain small. The exchange of strikes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah continues, even intensifying during the previous truce.

The US president also commented on the wider conflict with Iran, stating that he would not rush into a deal. He mentioned that he has "all the time in the world," unlike Iran, and threatened military action.

Asked about the possibility of using nuclear weapons against Iran, Trump denied having such intentions. He added that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until there is a deal.

For their part, Iranian government officials denied the American leader's claims of internal conflicts and declared "iron unity." There were still no signals of a potential meeting between Washington and Tehran.
