According to the report of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Burgas, during the last 24 hours, one murder, one theft, four other criminal offenses, and four traffic accidents (TAs) were registered. Four police proceedings were initiated, and 17 crimes were solved.
Among the solved crimes is the detention of a 52-year-old resident of Burgas, who drove a vehicle after consuming alcohol with a concentration of 1.52 per mille. Another case is the detention of a 58-year-old resident of Sozopol, suspected of murdering a 35-year-old woman from Burgas in his home on 22 Stara Planina Street in Sozopol. The police have established that the incident arose due to unresolved financial relations and a court decision transferring the ownership of the house to the Burgas woman.
Among the solved crimes is also the theft of a woman's wallet containing 300 levs, personal documents, and a mobile phone, owned by a 22-year-old resident of Burgas. The perpetrator, a 29-year-old resident of Burgas, was identified and returned part of the stolen items.
Four traffic accidents were also registered. On May 31, on the Burgas-Sredets road, in the area of the junction for the village of Konstantinovo, a serious TA occurred, in which an 82-year-old woman from Burgas, traveling in a Mercedes car, died on the spot. Subsequently, a 77-year-old man from Sredets, who was traveling in the same car, also died in the hospital. Other injured in the incident were admitted for treatment at the University Hospital Burgas.
On June 5, in Burgas, a TA was registered between a Yamaha R1 motorcycle and a BMW X4 car, in which the motorcyclist suffered multiple fractures of the right tibia. On the same day, in the village of Ruen, a 13-year-old girl on an electric vehicle hit a 59-year-old pedestrian, who was examined and released for home treatment. A TA was also registered on the Burgas-Malko Tarnovo road, in which a motorcyclist suffered a knee contusion.
The employees of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Burgas have taken the necessary procedural and investigative actions on all registered incidents and crimes, and the work on some of the cases is ongoing.
