A tragic incident with a gas cylinder shook the village of Tserkovski near Karnobat

Dramatic footage of destruction and human tragedy unfolded in the village of Tserkovski after an incident with a gas cylinder that endangered the life of an elderly couple.

On August 20, local authorities and firefighters were alerted to a sudden fire in a private property owned by a 48-year-old woman. The home, inhabited by her 80-year-old parents, became the epicenter of a destructive incident caused by improper manipulation of a gas device.

A team of three firefighters and one fire unit immediately arrived at the scene to quickly control the spreading flames. Despite the rapid intervention, the roof structure of the dwelling was seriously damaged.

The homeowner's elderly father - an 80-year-old man - was the most severely injured, suffering second-degree burns on his hands. Medical specialists took immediate action and transported him to the University Multi-Profile Hospital for Active Treatment in Burgas.

Initial expert analyses unambiguously point to improper handling of a gas cylinder as the cause of the incident. The investigation continues, with local authorities appealing to citizens to be extremely careful when working with gas appliances and cylinders.
