Tragic incident: 64-year-old Romanian tourist drowned at Sunny Beach

On the afternoon of August 18, around 4:00 PM, a tragic incident shook Sunny Beach when a 64-year-old Romanian tourist drowned in the sea. The report of the event was received by the District Police Department - Nesebar, which immediately took action to investigate the case.

The tragedy occurred on the beach in front of "Grand Hotel Neptune", in the immediate vicinity of lifeguard post №3. Despite the rapid efforts of the rescue service and witnesses to the incident, the man could not be saved. The deceased has been identified as a 64-year-old tourist from Romania, who was on vacation at the resort.

After the body was pulled from the water, it was taken for an autopsy to the "Forensic Medicine" department at the University Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment (UMBAL) in Burgas. The autopsy is expected to establish the exact causes of death and to rule out or confirm the presence of other circumstances that led to the incident.

The investigation into the case is ongoing. Law enforcement authorities are working to clarify all the facts and circumstances related to the tragic drowning. The authorities urge all beach visitors to be extremely careful and to follow the instructions of lifeguards, especially on days when the sea is rougher or there is a danger of rip currents. The incident once again raises the question of tourist safety on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and the need for strict adherence to the rules for swimming in the sea.
