Burgas and the region: warm, with variable cloudiness and calm breeze

In the afternoon hours, "short-term showers" and "thunderstorms" are possible in some parts of the Sofia region, especially on mountain slopes. The wind will be light to moderate, with variable direction, but most often west-northwest, with temporary gusts during storm processes.

Eastern and Western Bulgaria: west with local storms, east – sunnier

In Western Bulgaria, the day will start with broken clouds and pleasant morning temperatures between 15 and 17 degrees. Until noon there will be more sun, but around and after noon "cumulonimbus cloudiness" will develop and there will be short-term rain and thunderstorms in many places. Maximum temperatures will be around 24–27 degrees, with a temporary cooling felt in areas with more intense rain.

In Eastern Bulgaria, the weather will be more stable. In the morning, temperatures will be around 18–19 degrees, and daily maximums will reach 27–30 degrees. Cloudiness will be "mostly variable", with more sunny hours, especially along the coast and in the southeastern areas. The risk of precipitation is lower compared to the western parts, with possible showers being more localized and short-lived.

In the mountains: sunny before noon, afternoon thunderstorms

In the mountain areas, June 17 will offer good conditions for tourism in the first half of the day. Until noon it will be "sunny to variable cloudiness", with temperatures around 17–19 degrees at an altitude of about 1200 meters and about 10–12 degrees at 2000 meters. The wind will be light to moderate, mostly from the west-northwest.

In the afternoon, however, the development of cumulonimbus clouds is expected over the main mountain massifs – Rila, Pirin, Stara Planina, and parts of the Rhodopes. In many places there will be "short-term, but intense rain", accompanied by thunder and wind gusts along the ridges. Tourists should plan their longer routes for the morning hours and avoid open ridges at the first signs of a storm.

Black Sea coast: warm, slight swell and good beach conditions

Along the entire Black Sea coast on June 17, "warm and mostly variable" weather is expected. Minimum temperatures in the morning will be around 18–19 degrees, and daily maximums will reach 25–28 degrees, with slightly higher values along the Southern Black Sea coast.

The sea water temperature along the coast will be about 21–22 degrees. The sea state will remain slight – about 1–2 Douglas scale, which provides comfortable conditions for swimming and sea entertainment. The wind will be light to moderate, with a main direction of east-southeast and speeds of about 3–7 m/s, with no significant gusts.

The general assessment for bathing safety on the Black Sea coast for June 17 is green flag. In places with temporary wind intensification or more pronounced swells, a yellow flag is possible, but no serious restrictions are expected. It is recommended that beachgoers follow the instructions of lifeguards and avoid staying in the water during potential thunderstorms.
