A road incident involving three vehicles on the first-class road I-4 Sofia-Varna, in the area of the village of Malinovo, Lovech region, has claimed the life of an elderly woman. Three people were injured and taken to the hospital, and road police teams are on the scene regulating traffic.

Around 12:35 today, a signal for a serious accident near the village of Malinovo was received at the Lovech Regional Police Department. According to the initial information, an 84-year-old driver of a car with a trailer collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle, and then the trailer hit the next car.

As a result of the incident, a passenger from the car with the trailer died on the spot, and its driver and the driver and passenger from the other vehicle were taken to the Lovech hospital for medical assistance. A pre-trial investigation has been launched to clarify the causes of the serious accident.

At the moment, traffic in this section is only in one lane, with Lovech Road Police teams regulating traffic and assisting the passage of vehicles.
